Feedback Improves Neural and Behavioral Error Monitoring

Abstract

We examined the effects of trial-to-trial feedback on error-related brain activity. Participants who received feedback had a larger post-response positivity (p=.013) and an increase in accuracy following errors (p=.017), but no change in the error related negativity (p=.120). These findings suggest that differences in task characteristics can impact error monitoring.
