Abstract

A number of children immigrate to South Africa every year. There were about 12,211 immigrant children under the age of 15 years in the country.
A regression analysis performed showed that intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation contributed to 12% of immigrant learners’ academic performance in South African schools.
