Abstract

Interpreting emotions is essential to social interactions. Evidence suggests individuals high in social anxiety may have a perceptual bias when interpreting the emotional states of others. However, such an effect has not been consistently observed across studies. Here, we explore how different measures for quantifying bias could explain these discrepancies.
