Abstract

We examined parental monitoring as a moderator between anxious withdrawal and anxiety symptoms across 8th and 9th grade. Analyses revealed a significant positive association at all levels of monitoring, however it was significantly stronger for high levels of monitoring suggesting that high monitoring exacerbates the relation between withdrawal and anxiety.
