Are Higher Math Anxious Students Less Reflective in Their Thinking?

Abstract

Our study found that math anxiety is associated with a lower need for cognition and with less reflective thinking. We further suggest that this reluctance to struggle through complex problems and reflect on answers may explain, in part, the relation between math anxiety and math achievement.
