The Effect of Rumination on the Relation between Social Support and Depression during Students’ Transition to University

Abstract
Identifying risk and protective factors for depression during the transition from high school to university is crucial. During students’ first semester at university, rumination mediated the negative relationship between social support from friends and depressive symptoms. The implications of social support’s effect on students’ mental health are discussed.
Depression
