Abstract
Prospective study of children adopted from institutionalized care and association between auxology, environment, and development. Time in orphanage care was associated with increased risk of negative effect on growth, cognitive function, and hypothalamic pituitary adrenal axis. Family environment was a positive predictor of behavioral development.
