Abstract
Do people change their moral identity after feeling schadenfreude? Participants reporting low propensities for feeling guilt or shame adjusted their moral identity depending on the strength of schadenfreude. In contrast, participants reporting high propensities for feeling guilt or shame retained their high moral identity regardless of the strength of schadenfreude.
