Reward Processing and Decision-Making in Posttraumatic Stress Disorder

Abstract

We examined the effects of PTSD and trauma cues on reward expectation, outcome satisfaction, and decision-making. We found that PTSD was associated with lower reward expectation but not outcome satisfaction, and no interactions with trauma prime, contradicting theories that dampened positive affect in PTSD is exacerbated by trauma reminders.
