Abstract

We tested whether the relationship between SAD and social cognitive deficits is mediated by alexithymia. We found a positive correlation between social anxiety and alexithymia, no association between social cognition and alexithymia or social anxiety, and no significant association between our social cognition tasks. Possible explanations and implications are discussed.
