Abstract

Student belief in genetic determinism was assessed at the beginning and end of the semester. Most students did not distinguish between the concepts of genetic predisposition and genetic determinism, appearing to interpret the terms innate or hardwired as indicating that genes contribute to, but do not determine behavior.
