Abstract

Colorism is a skin tone bias where individuals favor one skin tone or complexion over another. Twenty-five African American college students completed a survey. Males and females were compared on the perception, experience, and attitudes about colorism. Participants felt colorism is still a prominent issue in the African-American community.
