Abstract

We found that PTSD is associated with greater heart rate (HR) reactivity to a trauma cue, but no difference in respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA) reactivity. This finding suggests that, although people with PTSD have elevated psychophysiological reactivity, their reactivity was not driven by the parasympathetic nervous system.
