Abstract

Multigroup path analysis examined whether proactive coping mediated associations between ethnic-racial identity resolution and adjustment among Asian, Black, Latino, and White adolescents. Greater resolution related to more proactive coping, in turn relating to higher self-esteem and academic engagement. Proactive coping did not mediate the relation between resolution and depressive symptoms.
