Compassion Satisfaction and Compassion Fatigue in Higher Education Faculty

Limited studies exist on how compassion satisfaction, secondary traumatic stress (STS) and burnout impact college faculty in relation to those in other helping professions. In the current study, eighty-four faculty members self-reported scores were significantly lower than reported average scores on all three constructs. Further inquiry and replication are encouraged.
