Higher Math Anxiety Is Associated with Lower Performance in a Serial Subtraction Task but Only during Simultaneous Exercise

Abstract

The same participants completed a verbal serial subtraction task while pedaling on an under-the-desk bicycle or remaining sedentary. Although simultaneous exercise did not impair performance in the task, higher math anxiety was associated with significantly lower performance only while exercising.
