If It's Not Stress, then What Is It? Further Insights into the Gender Difference in Mental Rotation

Abstract
We expected the stress response in a mental-rotation test (MRT) to be higher in women than in men. However, a gender difference, but no stress response (salivary cortisol), was evidenced compared to a standard stress test (SECP) in the MRT. Interestingly, the subjects reported lower coping abilities after the MRT.
