Altruistic Expectations: How Parents’ Shape Child Cooperative Ability

Abstract
Parents who use altruistic reasoning to explain why children should cooperate with others have children who demonstrate enhanced spatial coordination and success on a cooperative task requiring complimentary roles. These children, however, take longer to achieve a goal.
