Abstract

Can we communicate distinct emotions from touch? We conducted an experiment to Japanese participants, in which encoder tried to convey emotion by touching the decoder's hand. Results showed that anger, love, and gratitude were categorized accurately and fear, disgust, surprise, envy, and sympathy were also above chance in quadrant level.
