Faster Identification of Real-World Objects in Peri-Hand Space

Abstract

Objects located in peri-hand space (near the hand) are subject to enhanced visual processing. Using a visual search task, we tested for peri-hand space effects in adult and child participants. The results showed that 88% of participants identified the target images faster when the images were presented in peri-hand space.
