Abstract

536 participants reported confidence for probed questions regarding the discovery of and facts about Trump’s 2016 election. Results indicate interactions of arousal and information type on confidence and accuracy of memory, showing more confidence with higher arousal. Accurate, complex memories were more confidently rated than inaccurate memories.
