Abstract

We examined undergraduates’ hypothetical psychiatric treatment preferences and explanations for their choice. We used LIWC software to analyze differences in cognitive and affective words depending on treatment choice and gender. Results reveal significant gender differences in treatment preferences and thematic differences in word choice depending on gender and treatment preference.
