Romantic Partner Verbal Abilities Predict Observed Problem-Solving Communication

Effective communication is a key predictor of long-term relationship satisfaction and success. While there is emphasis on communication, little attention has been paid to individual communicative abilities, despite their demonstrated correlation within couples. Thus, we examined individual verbal abilities in connection to self- and observer-rated couple communication among dating couples.
