Abstract

Age is often associated with an increase in chronic illness. Purpose in life may act as a protective psychosocial factor as it has been associated with salubrious health outcomes. The present longitudinal study examined within-person variability in purpose, between-person differences in age and subsquent changes in inflammatory biomarker, C-reactive protein.
