Abstract

Stress can lead to negative emotional and relational outcomes, which could include jealousy in romantic relationships. In college students, greater perceived academic stress was associated with more jealous emotions, cognitions, and behaviors. General stressful life events were not associated with jealousy, and religious coping strategies did not buffer this effect.
