Poor Quality of Sleep Increases the Risk of MCI and AD Diagnosis in Community-Dwelling Elderly Filipinos

Abstract

Poor sleep quality has a profound impact on cognitive impairment. Patients with poor sleep quality tend to be older (74yrs. and above), have fewer years of formal education (<8yrs.), have lower MoCA-P scores (p<0.05) and have an increased rate of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and Alzheimer's Disease (AD) diagnosis (p<0.001).
