Abstract

Autobiographical memory is known to dramatically improve during early childhood simultaneous to accelerated brain development, specifically in the hippocampus. We examined relations between quantity of details recalled and ICV-adjusted hippocampal subregion volumes in 4-to 8-year-olds. Preliminary results suggest a negative correlation between hippocampal body volume and total episodic recall scores.
