Abstract

Fetal variables (fetal heart rate, fetal heart rate variability, and coupling) and maternal prenatal perceived stress are differentially predictive of the infant temperament constructs Surgency, Negative Affectivity, and Regulation/Orientation. Coupling predicts Surgency, perceived stress predicts Negative Affectivity, and all fetal variables predict Regulation/Orientation.
