Abstract
Change detection in scenes was assessed as a function of cue type (valid, invalid, no cue), masker complexity (blank screen, complex scene), and change type (addition, deletion, no change). Increased masker complexity impaired change detection and object deletion (as opposed to addition) was more easily detected in invalid cue conditions.
