Abstract

The Declarative/Procedural Model (Ullman, 2001) assumes that language learning involves procedural and declarative memories. The Declarative Memory Compensation Hypothesis (Ullman & Pierpont, 2005) posits declarative knowledge could compensate procedural learning difficulties in Specific Language Impairment. This study shows a facilitator effect of declarative processing on procedural learning in healthy adults.
