Abstract

Nationally-representative data from the Health Information Trends Survey were analyzed to examine whether exposure to tobacco-related corrective statements, smoking status, cancer survivorship, and sociodemographics were associated with cancer fatalism and cancer risk perception. Results indicated a significant interaction between exposure and smoking status predicting one fatalistic belief about cancer prevention.
