Abstract

This study aimed to investigate changes in depression, perceived stress, and empowerment among female survivors of domestic violence attending Personal Empowerment Programs. We found that only survivors without sexual abuse victimization experienced a significant increase in empowerment, suggesting this type of abuse might relate to unique consequences and recovery experiences.
