Abstract

Research suggests concreteness, readability, frequency and risk influence health information recall, yet few studies explore these effects simultaneously. We present evidence from two studies (n=126, n=131) demonstrating significant effects of concreteness, readability and risk on recall, and nonsignificant effects of frequency (likely due to competing processes of accessibility and attention-activation).
