Abstract

We investigated time perspective in the domain of parenting. Consideration of the consequences of one’s present parenting for one’s child’s future was significantly related to more authoritative and mindful parenting. Greater conscientiousness and openness, self-control and grit were also significantly associated with considering the future consequences of one’s current parenting.
