Abstract

Greater intimate partner violence (IPV) perpetrator-victim concordance regarding victimization is associated with greater abuse severity. Greater concordance predicts higher hostility, even controlling for abuse severity, and more aggressive responding. These effects are more pronounced for male victims. Results are discussed in terms of treatment and policy implications.
