We Enjoy Listening to Others Talk about Themselves--Because They Are Good at It

Although speakers much prefer telling stories about themselves, listeners enjoy hearing about speakers as much as hearing about themselves (i.e., the listeners). Why? Findings suggest one reason is that speakers tell uniquely detailed, thoughtful, interesting, and enjoyable stories about themselves.
