Relative Effects of Personality Traits and Mindset on Sport Performance Anxiety

Abstract

The pressure from sports subject athletes to sport performance anxiety (SPA). To understand who is most at risk of SPA we examined athlete’s personality traits and their beliefs (mindset) about controlling their anxiety. We observed that the strongest predictor of SPA was anxiety mindset followed by trait neuroticism.
