Abstract

536 participants were assessed for confidence in memories for Trump’s 2016 election. Results indicated higher confidence for discovery memories than facts, which reliably decreased at delays up to a year. Memory was stronger for discovery memories than facts, indicating emotion as a factor of encoding.
