Abstract

Two novel numeric mental-attention tasks were designed using the Theory of Constructive Operators to examine cognitive competence across development. Data from children ages 7 to 16 years show validity and reliability of the new tasks compared to established measures of mental-attention, We confirm developmental theoretical predictions of mental-attentional capacity limits.
