Abstract

We examined whether cognitive vs. affective message framing influenced male support for domestic violence causes. A field study was conducted on a college campus using a “think” vs. “feel” script. We found that cognitive framing was more persuasive among both genders, suggesting smaller mental orientation differences than previously suggested.
