Abstract

This study examined the relationship between religious-political identity integration and tolerance towards political ingroup and outgroup members. Results suggest that individuals who view their religious and political identities as more blended and harmonious show stronger outgroup bias and greater ingroup favorability than individuals who perceive their identities as less integrated.
