Abstract

The current study explored how depressed individuals process the various areas of an emotional expression. Eye-tracking patterns revealed longer dwell time with middle and lower facial features for basic emotions in depressed and non-depressed participants. Depressed participants attended longer to lower features for complex emotions, such as fear.
