Abstract

This study investigates the relationships between self-compassion, performance goals, and academic stress among college students in Hong Kong. One-hundred thirty-three college students were recruited to complete a self-administered questionnaire. Results found that a negative subcomponent of self-compassion, “isolation”, mediated the positive relationship between performance goals and academic stress.
