Abstract

Exposure to acute stress results in less goal-directed control, thus rendering behavior more habitual. Using a well-validated instrumental learning task, we examined whether, relative to a no-stress control condition, acute stress and cognitive fatigue induced by a Time load Dual-back (TloadDback) task equivalently shift the balance towards more habitual behavior.
