Abstract

In the Clark Doll Studies, children of all races preferred light-skinned compared to dark skinned dolls. We replicated this study in the context of the Stereotype Content Model. Participants rated photographs of racially diverse women’s hairstyles in terms of attractiveness, warmth and competence. All races and genders preferred long hair.
