Being Highly Sensitive is Associated with Stress and Burnout in Nursing

Abstract

Research shows that those with Sensory Processing Sensitivity (SPS) are more prone to organizational stress and burnout than their non-sensitive peers. In this study, SPS was explored within the field of nursing. Results demonstrate that those with this trait are significantly more prone to stress and burnout from emotional exhaustion.
