Food Request Study Readapted: Understanding Intentions behind Verbal and Gestural Responses By Chinese Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)

Abstract

The current study aims to better understand the ability of children with ASD to understand others’ desires. Twenty children with ASD aged 3-7 and a control group performed a food-request procedure. Results show that children with ASD have significant impairment in indicating their own food preference or reading others’ preference.
