The Blank Lineup Procedure: A Useful Screening Tool When Paired with Certain Instructions

Abstract
We examined instructional influences in the blank lineup procedure. Including this additional lineup was an effective screening tool only when witnesses were warned prior to the blank lineup that they would view a series of lineups, but not when informed there would be two lineups or were given no warning.
