Can Theatre Change Minds? Evidence from a Field Experiment about Theatre's Effects on Attitudes, Empathy, and Pro-Sociality

Abstract
More than 700 participants were randomly assigned to complete a survey either before or after seeing a play at a regional theatre company across 28 performances. The results indicate that theatre can change political attitudes, encourage empathy, and promote pro-social behavior.
