Save the Children, Not the Mother: Mothers' Ignored Psychological Health and Well-Being Following Childbirth Experiences

We examined how incivility impacted the psychological health of women in childbirth. In a survey, women described experiences of incivility and their outcomes. We identified twelve outcome themes, eight mental health effects, and five negative emotions that women may face during childbirth. These findings are vital to improving mother-focused care.
